"Received a call from this number from someone with a heavy Indian accent. Said that they needed to check my satellite receiver because they said it was old and wanted the model number and 4 digit pin number. I made them believe I turned on my TV and went to Menu to give them the details and then told them they were a scam. I could hear his colleague in the background trying to convince someone else to believe him. COMPLETE SCAM!!!"

"This number called claiming to be "DISH Network" and told me that their satellite orbit was being adjusted and my receiver would need additional programming. The caller (Who had a heavy Indian voice) then set me up with an appointment the next morning for remote programming. He called the next day and told me to unplug my satellite, wait a minute, then plug it back in. Then he told me that I needed to pay for this separately by check or money order. Asked why it cannot be charged to my account. After I told them that I am giving him my credit card info, he stated that he found my credit card information and gave me the last four digits - which were to a credit card that was cancelled because of fraudulent charges. He then asked for me credit card info, which he then told me that it is check only or he is going to turn off my service immediately. He then gave me the address of PO Box 300782 Brooklyn, NY 11230 and told me to send the check or else. TOTAL SCAM! Looked up number and address - caller ID did show a DISH Network number, but it was a false caller ID number. The PO Box is to an "Outside the Box Shipping Company". My DISH service was later shut off! I called back DISH who restored my services and I reported this to the fraud department. I never gave any financial information - NEVER GIVE PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFO OVER THE PHONE. Just wanted to report this so if this happens to you, call up DISH and they will make it right. "Man called claming my stuff was old and than telling me i needed to upgrade my stuff and clamed that they needed to cheek with people to see if they could i told them ok than said it be 175 dollers the next day tha said my bill would be lower 75 dollers and id get some hbo and outher chaniels free than said but i needed to send money asap i thought it was funny and called dish they looked at my account and said my bill would stay the same and not change and that they dont call like that usly u have to call thim to get stuff and fixed that this was a scam and they had to change my things around to protect my account i thank its sad they toke there number and name doing it the lady at dish told me things not to do and how to protect my self"
