I fell for it, until they told me to buy them gift cards from target and give it to them over the phone.

They say there's a warrant for your arrest, tell you not to hang up or you'll be guilty and arrested. Tell you to either admit you lied to the irs and will pay or to find an attorney (I suggest get an attorney and get this scam out of business). I had to use a vacation day to drive around town to meet the "irs agent" until I realized they just wanted me to buy target gift cards.
I got their "badge number" and called back and they had secretaries and everything answering with "Internal Revenue Service, collections division""

"SAID I HAVE A WARRANT OUT FOR MY ARREST! I AM NOT IN WHATEVER STATE THE CALL IS FROM AND NEVER BEEN ARRESTED IN MY LIFE. SCARY AND NOT COOL. WAS A RECORDED MESSAGE LEFT ON MY CELL VOICEMAIL. I HAVE VERIZON AND 100 BELIEVE THEY ARE SELLING OUR NUMBERS."
