"I received a call from mr. Green about a debit I owed but he refused to tell any information on who I owed the money. I had to send the first payment to an arbitrator in las vegas and then in Florida. He keeps telling me he will send a letter stating my debt has been satisfied but I still have received nothing.they are still calling me every day."

1. You can’t be served or arrested for an old debt. If they tell you this they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, and you can sue them!

3. Statute of limitations for collecting on old debt is 6 to 8 years.

"Husband got a phone call from a local number area code 610. He was then transferred to 347-328-0111 and spoke to a Mark Brown. Brown told him he was being served for debit owed to a company by the name Credit National from over 8 yes ago. He gave an old address but correct email drivers license number and social security number. My husband took the call back number and called me asap. I called mr brown and he was extremely rude stating that he did not have time to explain himself a second time. I flipped and told him that if he truly wanted to settle a debt that he would need to explain as my husband had not understood. Eventually stating that the issue was with my husband took it me that it should have no effect on me he hung up. I called back and got someone else who I was able to sweet talk into getting a name and address for this so called law firm. He requested my husband send a statement of authorization along with a copy of his ID so that they could negotiate a payment plan. When I looked up the address it came back to a bankruptcy court in Brooklyn ny. Believe me we are not sending a dime and first thing in the am we will be contacting the NY state shireffs department"

"I received a call today as well...the caller first called from 316-660-3248 which is a local number. They then transferred me to 347-328-0111. Said they were Black Smith law firm and when I googled the address it came back as a Post office. I spoke Simon. Please be aware because I almost went for it thanks to Google!"
