"Asked for my number on Offer Up to text instead of using their messaging system. Said movers were going to pick up the item and they would pay using a certified check. I said no, cash only. They disappeared after that."

"Texted me for a couch we were selling online. Asked to email us a pic of a certified check to "electronically deposit". Also was asking for banking info for some reason. And saying they would send movers to pick up the couch at a specified time (without asking for the address) but that we would need to pay the movers for the moving fee. I see another comment from someone with a similar story... beware of scammers!"
