"Got a message from a Matt Rhoden from phone number (808) 463-5896 last week, who told me he wanted to buy my dryer that was for sale on Craig's List, and would send me a cashier's check for the dryer plus the moving fee, and asked me to pay the movers directly.

A week later, I received a check in the mail in a tracked USPS envelope, for $1400 more than the price of the dryer. And I got a text message from "Matt Rhoden" on phone number (805) 410-5001 saying that he had confirmation that the check was delivered and do I have it. I called the police and gave them the check, the envelope, and a tran of both text messages.

Report and block any phone number that text messages you saying they will send you the sale price plus the cost of the movers. This is a wide spread scam, per the police."
