"This is a scam. I will block the number from my phone and a week later get the same call, same recording from a number in WA or OH. If you get a phone call from the FBI without a mailing first, it is usually a scam. They will send you documentation first and the IRS will as well. They will never ask for your info over the phone. Beware of phishing emails as well."

"Today, July 7, 2017, I reeceived a call with a recording claiming to be the FBI crime and tax investigation unit. Supposedly, agent Catherine Richardson Badge # 002569. Proceeded to state that my physical address was under investigation and an arrest warrant had been issued under my name. I was highly skeptical for a number of reasons, mainly because I am a model citizen. They requested I call back this number 858-225-3814. When I asked the man with a foreign accent to verify that this is the FBI with specific details he said "Sorry, I can't help you if you don't give me your information." I told him that you should have all of my information because you are the one that called me. So please tell me who I am and what else you know about me regarding this case and then I will respond to your inquiries. I didn't when give him my name. He hung up the phone. I called back and without even speaking the word he hung up again. I called back one last time and got holding music for 30 seconds and then it hang up. I'm guessing that my number is now flagged as someone who has exposed their scam and one who cannot be defrauded. They've moved on to other unsuspecting victims. I hope everyone finds this website and reads this before they call these crooks and certainly before they give them any of their hard earned money. Seniors, especially beware!"
