"Called me at work. Saying he had done some work on my computer before. Guided me to access my computer and download something. I assumed it was IT in our office and went along, as I thought he was our IT person - until he asked me to pay $150 to upgrade and protect my computer from virus. I explained I shouldn't pay as this was my official computer. By then I got suspicious, cancelled the downloading, turned off my computer and brought it upstairs to our IT unit, who advised they had no idea about this "IT support" and cleaned the computer. The caller identified himself as Ron Williams and gave the number: 888 512 6773, which I used to call him back (and he picked up). On my phone the following number showed up: 617 843 4869."

His name supposedly is Alex Thomson. Who was only trying to help me by wanting me to go to command prompt. After a few minutes hung up on him."
