"I got the "Howard Williams" call on a local number yesterday. I said "yes" to get to an operator who hung up after I asked the name of the company ("warranty services") and where they are located ("Irvine CA").

I googled them and they have been at this for years. It seems that they can now use local numbers, which seems new...have to wonder how much the carriers make off of these assholes."

"Same here. Starts off "Hi this is Howard Williams....." He's spoofing the phone number using a local number to mask where he's calling from. Best thing is not to answer unknown callers. Just using my phones blocking feature when these come in with no voice mails. The seem to quit after awhile."

"A man claiming to be "howard Williams" is calling "one last time" to notify me of my car's extended warranty running out. He says they have sent me mail and are calling as a last chance for me to respond. My car has no extended warranty and I've received no mail on this subject. I was called three times today alone. No one even picks up the phone when the automated service directs me to a representative. The one time they picked up I told their representative that I would report the number if they called me again, to which he swiftly hung up the phone. Now, two weeks later I am still receiving phone calls that average about 2 per day. This has been going on for about 2 months now."
