It's rather funny, because when I tell them our computers are Macs and we don't use Windows, it doesn't even slow them down. Last time I asked the young man to take our phone number off their list and he politely said said "No, Ma'am" and hung up on me. I hate this type of call. It's getting to the point where if we don't recognize the phone number, we let it go to the answering machine. If it's a real person and the call is important, they will leave a message." Submitted by Bill on August 07, 2014 "I answered and a man with an "ORIENTAL" voice spoke and told me he was from Windows and my computer was flagged because it was causing interference to other peoples' computers. H said he had my License # and all the info from Windows. He wanted me to go directly to my computer and log on so that he could search my computer and fix the bad files. I asked him again if he was from Windows and he said yes. At this point I realized it was a scam and hung up. Has not called again (1 week)." They've even called from local numbers & supposedly from people that I know... on their landlines. Then it changed from our area code to another area code w the same 7 digits. They seem to be able to hack into anyone's lines! It seems you no longer need to have internet service for being victims of hackers!!" Submitted by TL on August 06, 2014 "I answered out of curiosity the first time and I was told by a woman with thick accent that she was from windows and my computer was being hacked. Same story as everyone else's. I knew it was a scam but I played along for a while but then I eventually just hung up. I added the number to my reject list. The number still appears to be calling but my phone does not ring. It is annoying just seeing that they are still attempting to call." Saw that it was a scam and wanted your information to get into your computer. They called 2 more times so i decided to pick up. I said "Please take my number off the list. I do not even own a Windows computer. How can my computer be hacked if I dont own one", he just said "ok". so who knows...waiting to see if i keep getting the same phone call again."
