"Same guy others listed tried to tell me a lot of my pre-installed programs weren't working right or something equally asinine. Wanted to help me fix my PC. I asked him if anyone actually fell for this scam and he hung up."

"The caller says he's a certified technician who has noticed some illegal firewall activities on my computer. He goes on to say that he needs me to answer some questions to resolve the issue."

"Caller claimed to be with Personal Computer Solutions and began asking the same as others: "I believe you have a computer, right?" Caller was male, age in late 20's to early 30's, with a Spanish or Portuguese accent. I told him the number he called is on the Do-Not-Call Registry. This seemed to make him stumble his speech. But, he didn't seem concerned and asked if I needed help with my computer. I told him I am a computer specialist. So, he stumbled again, struggling for what to say next. Then, he asked if I wanted him to call again. What??? Please don't.

I checked my call logs and discovered that he had called other phone numbers of mine. I reported all occurrences to DoNotCall.gov."

"Guaranteed phishing / ID theft scam, no doubt about it. These people want to install remote desktop control software on your computer. This is opening the door for letting them have complete access to your computer and personal information. Received call from a male with foreign accent informing me that my system has been compromised, but he couldn't say how or why. He "guided" me through commands to download remote desktop software from www.supremocontrol.com. I played dumb until I figured out what he was doing then hung up on him. I know a thing or two about computers, far more than your average civilian, so it was hard to keep a straight face and to keep from laughing. These are same idiots who call people and claim to be with the IRS, and that you owe them money."
