"My call was from a woman with an accent. It started with two phone messages, content similar to those described. I called back, got kind of a runaround."

"Jason Miller heavy accented fellow called and told me i was going to be charged with tax evasion. He then went on to tell me if we were disconnected for any reason that i would be arrested and taken to jail for minimum of 72 hours. I spoke to him thinking this was a legit call until i asked him for the prosecuting agent with the IRS so i could have "my lawyer" call him. He said he did not have that information and when i pursued the matter with him he immediately hung up on me. Please have someone stop these jokers."

"An obvious scam by some foreign organization, claiming a tax fraud and evastion. Although the IRS is not high on my trustworthy list at the moment, they would NEVER contact you in this manner regardless of the alleged offense. I simply ignored the first call, but they are persistent. The fact that they are using a Bank of America account to receive their ill gotten gains should be reported immediately to Bank of America."

"I got a phone call from Shirley Adams with heavy accent, then was transferred to Jason Miller with Indian accent too. Then he gave 2 options, 1st option is to call my attorney and fight IRS in court and said that I could be fined $75000 or up to 6 years in jail. 2nd option was to pay IRS now. So I picked option 2. He stayed with me on the phone as I drove to the bank and asked me withdraw $6100 in cash. Fortunately, my bank had a $2000 daily cash limit. Then he told me to go to the nearest Bank of America to deposit the money then get the bank receipt and mail or it off to the nearest local IRS office. But when he said that the bank account will be under an IRS officers name, I said I want to call me local IRS first to confirm the case against me. Then he said to stop wasting his time and I either deposit the money now or he will have me arrested in 15 min. I told him that this sounds more like a hold-up and told him I can't believe IRS does not even give me a chance to confirm the charges and to check with my tax accountant, then started screaming at me, continued threatening me and when I keep asking him more questions and refuse to go to Bank of America then he hung up. Then I found this post."
