"I received a call from this number, man with a very thick accent said he was with Experian Credit Bureau and because my recent credit scores shot up I was eligible for lower interest rates on my existing credit cards. I told him I don't use credit cards, no interest. He proceeded to tell me card numbers, had my entire payment history, wanted me to confirm my birthdate and social, both of which he already had. When I told them I was going to call Experian to see if they had such an offer they hung up on me. Freaks me out to know someone had my info. Spent hours on phone yesterday freezing my credit with the big three credit bureaus, in doing so found out they had already opened card in my name and needed security code to use it, thank God they were stopped.
The number if you dial it rings into Citibank but they don't make calls like that. When I reported this to legal authorities they said it's not a Citibank phone number, the scammers own the number and can forward calls to various companies so people think they are legit and will give them all their Info when they call back. I hope someone catches these greedy sons of ***** es. I hope they catch them before I catch them first. Be safe out there people. A lot of assholes in the world !!!"
