"So I actually am a tax auditor. I thought I'd call back the number and have a little fun. I'm not sure if this is a full out scam, or if "Sharon Turner" is a sleazy, self-promoting accountant or tax preparer desperately trying to drum up business. A friend of mine (who is a parole officer) called back one of these characters who claimed to be the IRS. The so-called IRS agent couldn't even tell him what IRS stood for. The IRS never calls, they always send notices first, and so do most states"
