"It is key bank, It’s not a public number on the website. It connects you to customer service, they will ask you verification questions because it’s not the same people who called you. They are required to verify you. The reference number is the last 4 of the card. If you ever feel weary call the number on the back of the card. Unfortunately fraudsters have begun spoofing phone numbers. The card fraud people are not the same as fraud hotline (they don’t do card fraud) or disputes(they deal with fraud and non-fraud disputes), they are different departments. If you don’t believe me call and ask."

"I got a call from a man asking for me saying he was from Key Bank fraud department and he wanted to ask me about some charges. He asked if I made a charge to Nuts.com for the amount and also to Etsy.com for the amount. Both amounts were so small I asked why are you calling over such nominal charges. He went into a big speech about stuff I just can't remember. Then he asked about one more charge to Clarkstown pharmacy for another small amount. seeming suspicious all I said was yes to these questions and didn't give any other info then he thanked me and hung up.I offered up no other info about myself or bank account. Now I am calling my bank rep and their fraud dept. Even though i gave no info he still has mine banking info"

"I checked my account online and there was a charge for Netflix (I do not have a Netflix account). A few minutes later I received a call from this number and they left a voicemail stating there was activity that was questionable on one of my cards. He left a reference number to give when I called back. When I called this number a man answered saying hello how can I help you. I asked him what number this is for and he said Keybank Card Services. I gave him the reference number, but then he asked for my full debit card number to pull up my account. I told him that this number called me with a reference number to pull up my account, so why would I need to give you my card number if you already have that information. I said I'm not comfortable giving it because he could be a scammer wanting my information. When I called the number on my card, the woman started a fraudulent claim and cancelled my card. I asked her if Keybank has a card services department that calls customers if there is fraudulent card activity and she said no. She looked up the number and said it wasn't associated with Keybank. I bet this 8668219096 number is the scammer collecting more info. That's why they know fraudulent activity has happened!"

"LEGIT KEY BANK FRAUD DEPARTMENT CALL

It doesn't go through the regular Key Bank prompts, so it sounded a bit strange. They called over some irregular charges, which I had not noticed.

I freaked out when they asked for my driver's license, full DOB and email address, so I declined to provide those.

I immediately called the 800# on the back of my card and they confirmed this is their Fraud Department. The rep called the number and confirmed the other rep was a Key Bank employee.

Lesson learned - When in doubt, just call the number on the back of the card."

I called the number on my card instead, but they said this number is a hotline they don't publish, so that you can get through faster. I had 1500 bucks of unauthorized charges on my card. Call is very probably legit."

"Said it was key bank but wanted to know my whole card number and address, dob, drivers license number, etc. Invasive and definitely strange. There is a hold on my account, but I strongly suspect that it is this company that is the fraud. I did not give them all this information."
