"I received a few calls from this number this week, not even realizing it was missing a digit, but I did notice there was no location listed under the caller id. Today I actually picked up the call. The woman on the other end proceeded to inform me that I was randomly ed to receive a $9,000 grant from the US government. I laughed & asked her some further questions, curious as to where this was going. She gave me her spiel and told me there was no obligation to repay, and I qualified because I didn’t have a criminal record, among other reasons. She continued to say they could western union me the cash, have it direct deposited into my bank account, and another option or two that I don’t recall. Again I laughed and told her there was no way I was giving her my bank account details and asked her to verify herself & why on earth should I believe she is who she says she is. She laughed and told me whatever, your loss kind of thing & hung up. An obvious scam, but was certainly entertaining for the moment. A girl can dream hahaa! P.S. Other sites mention if you try to call this number back you will be hit up with crazy charges."
