Saying because I wanted a check, to call a seperate number where they will arrange for a check to be sent.
Lady's accent was of India origin."

"The caller tried to convince me I had a received a grant from the federal government, she cited the reason I was receiving the grant was because I was a good citizen and paid taxes on time. Then she asked for bank account information or offered that I can pick up the "cash" from a bank. It definitely seems like a scam to me."

"I was called 3 or 4 times before I answered this number. There was a man with a thick accent and he greeted me and and asked how I was. I said good and he said “great!”. I didn’t hang up because I was laughing so hard. He told me he was the government and that he was going to give me $9,000. I knew this wasn’t true so then I didn’t reply then he said HE was going to give me some kind of information...? I then went to my mom so she could do something. So then I showed her and told her everything and she started laughing. She took my phone then said “who is this?” Then the man said “wut du yoo mean whoo I am?” Then me and my mom started laughing again and he said “do u even spek English?” And my mom answered “the real question is if YOU even know English??!?!” So then my mom said “stop calling this number you fcking creep” he was about to say something but then my mom just hung up the number and blocked it."

"Person didn't respond when I said hello. Just breathed heavily. They called 3 times in 1 hr so I blocked the number."

"I received a call from this number. There was a pause before I heard a reply, which made me think it was a robo call, so I kept saying "Hello, hello, hello" and then the voice on the other end said "Fuck you. You are an asshole." Turns out, it was a real person. They had a thick accent, but didn't like my sarcastic tone in answering. I asked him who he was calling for and he said he'd call back and let me know, then he hung up. Definitely one of the more aggressive scammer solicitation calls I've received"

"They called three times. Finally answered on the third time I answered. In an Indian accent they claimed to be from the US Treasury and had randomly ed me to receive a $9000 grant. I promptly told them to not call me again. This was such a scam"
