"Called me three times in one day. I answered the second time they called. A man with a thick accent said "you've been ed for a $9,000 grant" I told him to stop right there, stop trying to scam people and that I was reporting his number to the police. Immediately he hung up. An hour and a half later, a woman with the same type of thick accent started with the same thing and I responded "you already tried to scam me once and I've already reported your phone number to the police. She quickly hung up as well"

"I received a call from an unknown number just now telling me that I was ed to receive a federal grant of $9000 that I would not have to pay back. I knew it was a scam but I still listened to what they had to say just for the heck of it. I was told that the only restriction was that I had to use the only for my family, paying for another car, or to pay off debt. Well I was given a conformation number and a number of 202-570-4298 that I needed to call and talk to the treasury department to be able to claim the one time payment that I would never be able to get again."
