Following are phone call reports that have been submitted regarding the phone number +1 (425) 589-0398+1 (425) 589-0398 Phone Number Reports:Submitted by David on November 11, 2017"They have been calling me all week. Picked up once but didn't say anything. It was a robocall but considering it didn't have a name or any info the real IRS would have, I knew it was just a piece of poop scammers. Even if they had my name I know very well the IRS doesn't call, they send letters in the mail." Submitted by Jeffrey Weinstein on November 10, 2017 "This is a call center in India as near as I can tell. Same thing as said by others. A recording calls you and tells you to call back at this number within 48 hours, or you will be arrested. When you call back, you get someone with an Indian accent who tries to tell you that you owe the IRS money and that if it is not paid immediately, you will be arrested and go to prison for up to 20 years. DON'T FALL FOR IT! I have over 25 years of experience working for a collection law firm that DID have a contract with the IRS. They NEVER authorize collection agencies to threaten anybody with arrest. The collection agencies do not have that power. And the IRS does not send past due bills to a collection agency and then arrest you if you can't pay. The IRS just doesn't work like that. While it IS true that you CAN be arrested for debt owed to the IRS, it does not happen that often and they usually only do this if you filed a fraudulent return or clearly have the money to pay what you owe and just refuse to do so. The most common thing that happens is a wage garnishment or a lien placed on property that you own and even that is done ONLY after they have tried everything else first. This is simply a scam. I cannot imagine ANY legitimate collection agency or collection law firm placing their contract with the IRS - or their license - in jeopardy by blatantly violating the law this way. It is also true that when collecting government debt, they do NOT legally have to abide by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) but most of them DO ABIDE by it, because the government agencies insists upon it. No government agency wants to be in the newspapers because they had debt collectors calling people who owe money at 5am local time. If these people call you, I wouldn't bother to call back. If you DO call back, insist that they give you their company name and address. They will probably give you a line of BS as to why they can't and just demand your credit card number. My friend called them back and insisted that he give them his social security number. If they REALLY were legitimate, they would have this information already. At most, they might ask you to verify the last 4 digits of your SSN, which they would give you first "Are the last 4 digits of your SSN 1256?" Anyway, we called the IRS and my friend does NOT have any outstanding debt to the IRS and he does not have any issues with them. We gave them the number that called and maybe they can do something about it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. The bottom line is, if the IRS wants you arrested for whatever reason, they are not going to send your account to a collection agency and they won';t even call you. You will simply get a knock on your door and it will be the police, there to arrest you."
