"Caller from 209-813-0473left message for my client said had been sued by IRS- I called back and he answered as Officer Denny Smith, asked me the phone number of whomever got the call- I asked for his badge number, he hung up."

3 times (8/12, 8/14, 8/14 ) from a man with the heavy Indian accent who said he was calling from Tax Investigation Department and his name was Craig Miller.

The calls stated that there was a law suit against my name and that I must return the call immediately.


I found same complaint on the web in these days.

"I got 5 phone calls in the last three days and I am getting tired. In general, I ignore those phone calls and never pick up. But this scammer left very threatening messages and I almost wanted to call them back to say FU. Impersonating to be an IRS officer. I just want them to do some homework first and see who they are calling to. I work for the state government. I know how things work."

"I received phone calls from Wasington DC 202-241-2642 on 8/12 and today 8/13.A man named "Gray Marrocco" at Ditect Primes inverstigation Dep.had strong accent and left messages.It said that there is a law suit about fine against my name and information.I or retain attorney need to call him back a.s.a.p. otherwise IRS will take regal procedure.
I called him back to
ask what is going on but he just kept saying I didn'pay enough tax so he want me to
pay the penalty $2400.If I hired attorney to do this process it would cost $4500.

IRS give us suggestion to how to pay?
and informed about penalty only by phone?
I don't think so.
I heard my friends got the same scam calls ."

"just received a call from this number, stating that a lawsuit has been filed against me for several tax violations. man had a very heavy accent and was hard to understand. after he hung up, i called the number back twice and each time they hung up as soon as they answered."

So I said I would check with IRS and return your call, they insisted they are local IRS office, I asked what I did, they explained only "it's gonna down to the court" The person had heavy accent. BE CAREFUL!!"
