"said "hi grandma, and when I said who is this because I didn't recognize the number he said this is your grandson,..I said which one?..he said the oldest....I said I don't recognize the voice.....He said who do you think it is....I said you tell me your name and he abruptly hung up. It's possible it was a wrong number but it was a very odd call. Thought I should report it."

"At 12:24 p.m. on 3/8/17 I received a call from (202) 663-3333. A man named Calvin Johnson told me he was calling “from United States Federal Grants Department, from Washington, DC.” He called me “Mr. John” and told me I had been ed for a “free royalty grant of $9,000.” He told me that none of it needed to be paid back and that there would be no taxes owed on it. He told me I was one of 1500 citizens that had been ed for this grant. I asked him where he was from, since he had an accent. He demurred and then I asked him if he what school he went to. He said the reason he sounded the way he did is that he “wasn’t feeling well.” I asked him again what school he went to. He said, “Just listen to me. Did you call me or did I call you?!” He then said he’s from “Nagaleb, N-a-g-a-l-e-b.” I asked him how long he had been working for the federal government and he told me 4 months. He said he is located at 150 NW Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC.” (I looked up this address, but couldn’t discern what is located there.) I told him I had to have lunch and that I’d call him back. He told me that I couldn’t call him back because these are “computer generated calls” and that he’d call me back."
