He said that I owed $973 and could settle the matter by a wire transfer. He said that the local police were going to serve me soon with the paperwork. I advised him that I would wait to be served.

"SCAM! Was told IRS attempted to deliver letter to us 2 times and that today was my "final" phone call. Caller gave me the name Robert Hill. Very heavy Indian accent. My husband was accused of tax fraud and would be arrested this afternoon. Wanted to give me all sorts of legal mumbo jumbo to right down because that was the official way they do things. I asked to speak to someone without an accent. He put me on hold then came back on the line, same voice, same accent.Gave me case number, badge number. Worked very hard at sounding official. Almost had me for a minute!"
