"1. Got a call saying I'd won Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes. No details provided.

2. I called back and left a message to call me back.

3. A few hours later, a man with a strange accent called, identified himself as Mark Fairbanks of PCH and made sure I wrote down the above number. From the way he spoke, I could tell that he thought I was old or stupid. He told me his name, asked that I write his phone number and gave me the same message that I was the winner. Then he asked me something that didn't fit (forgot what it was) and I challenged his asking an unrelated personal question. He then asked if I wanted to receive the money privately or with publicity. I said privately. The next question was whether I live alone. I hung up."
